Milka Amavel Mousse a la Creme Caramel - Quick Review

My apologies for yet another old review...I bought this bar months ago and it has remained in my snacks archives for quite a while! My camera is currently broken so I can't review any of the cool new snacks on shelves at the moment - boo-hoo! :(

I picked up this bar from a discount store for 50p. It reminded me of the Milka Amavel Nuss Torte bar I reviewed here but instead of a sponge filling it contained a caramel-flavoured chocolate mousse filling. The bar came in 2 seperate plastic-wrapped sections:


Each section contained 4 uniquely shaped triangular, curved blocks:


Cutting one open revealed quite a firm truffle filling with a strong caramel aroma - it smelled absolutely delicious!


Taking a bite I wasn't let down - the chocolate was extremely rich and with a strong caramel/butterscotch-like flavour that was very delicious. It was a little bit too rich actually, and I could only handle a few blocks at once. It reminded me somewhat of the filling in Lindor truffles. The milka chocolate coating was as nice as ever; creamy and with a distinctive alpine milk flavour.

Overall, this was a very tasty bar and one I would recommend trying if you see it. It's very rich, but very tasty!

    I think I would love this and I am liking the crazy shaped pieces. You are definitely an expert at finding amazing bargain chocolate! 50p!!

Cadbury Dream Ice Creams - back for Summer! (UK)

If you've sorely missed Cadbury Dream White Chocolate since it was withdrawn from UK shelves many years ago, fear not, it's going to be back for Summer, albeit in a colder form - yes, ice cream! Dream Ice Creams have been in shops sporadically for several years now (including a Strawberry variety that was exclusive to Farmfoods) but finally they're getting an official release just for the Summer, yay! It will be sold in major supermarkets in packs of three, and impulse sticks will cost £1.80 from convenience stores. Maybe Cadbury are testing the waters to see how popular they are...who knows, maybe the proper Cadbury Dream bar may be resurrected if sales are good! You can already find Cadbury Dream ice creams in Fultons Foods , a Northern based frozen food store if you're lucky enough to live near one (there's a store finder in the link above). Asda Tinned Banana Blossom Review

Recently, I spotted a totally new vegetable/fruit (not sure which it actually is!) in Asda called Banana Blossom in a tin. It was next to the tins of Jackfruit which is a well known vegan meat alternative. I assumed it was a similar thing so happily bought some to try - it’s £1.50 a tin. The image on the wrapper looked innocent enough - battered fish pieces, only vegan! Surely this stuff must be good? Turns out that packaging was very misleading because nothing could prepare me for the horror that was lurking inside...when I opened the tin it was like opening something from a horror film, discovering the mouldy body of an ancient alien creature or other such evil. It looked hideous!! “Surely this is not meant for human consumption?!”, I thought. Heck it’s not even suitable for bird consumption....I think flies would even turn their nose up at this thing, which looked like rotten infested seaweed.
